  • The commercial loan portfolio in the western U.S. of a major international bank was analyzed and reviewed across four dimensions: i) the portfolio’s sensitivity to deteriorating real estate markets, ii) credit quality, iii) adherence to proper underwriting standards, and iv) various regulatory issues. In its most recent exam, this bank’s regulators were sufficiently impressed by the depth and clarity of the review that they determined that it was not necessary to examine the loan portfolio and assigned it their highest quality rating.
  • The business practices and accounting records of a developer and guarantor of commercial loans were dissected and discovered a pattern of deception and fraud making the underlying obligations non-dischargeable in bankruptcy while simultaneously identifying unattached assets that should help our client maximize its recovery.
